Personal Capital Welcomes Eric Weiss As CMO

This week we’re excited to announce that industry veteran, Eric Weiss, joins Personal Capital as our new CMO. Eric brings with him two decades of experience in the technology industry to Personal Capital. Weiss’ experience scaling rapid growth tech organizations makes him the perfect leader to expand Personal Capital’s reach to even more individuals in need of sound, holistic financial advice.

Bringing more than 20 years of experience primarily in high growth cloud services, Weiss was most recently the SVP of Marketing at Intermedia, where he contributed to the company’s tripling of revenue, EBITDA and product offerings and recent acquisition of the company. He joined Intermedia by way of Axcient, which, during his tenure, became the #1 fastest growing IT Security company nationwide, according to Inc magazine. Previously, Weiss held the role of global SVP marketing with GreenRoad, where he led rebranding and helped increase booked revenues from $1M to $30M, and Covad Communications where he grew revenue by over $50M. Weiss also held various senior management roles at public companies including Hewlett-Packard, Macromedia (Adobe) and Dialogic.

I’m thrilled to join Personal Capital as the firm disrupts the traditional wealth management industry. Consumers today are demanding more technology-driven solutions for managing their money, yet there is still a huge value in the guidance provided by a real human around more complex financial planning. The Personal Capital team has found the perfect combination of advanced financial management technology and the expertise of licensed financial advisors to provide advice that isn’t just one-size-fits-all. – Eric Weiss

We’re growing rapidly at Personal Capital. Having just reached $3 billion assets under management and raised $75 million in May, I speak for the entire Personal Capital team in saying that we are excited to welcome Eric as we power our next phase of hyper-growth. We’re the leading wealth management firm in the world, providing a hybrid of technology and professional advisors. With a growing team, we will be able to improve the financial lives, and retirement plans, of even more American families.

is there a category for real estate assets – home and rental properties

    • Marianne Ahlmann

Hi Ron, we don’t specifically have a “rental properties category, but here’s a suggestion if you want to customize your transactions a bit more. If you open up the main dashboard then click on transactions, you’ll be able to see expenses as well as income. If you’re looking to label income, find that transaction and click on it. You can then change the “category” to “other income” or “investment income.” You can then alter the description to list the details, such as “rental income.” If you’re looking to label an expense, you can do the same thing in the category section and choose “rent” or “mortgage.” In case you’re interested in more, check out this post: Hope that helps!
